A Faith for Today

Here in Everett, as in Europe, Africa, Australia, South America and throughout the world, Bahá’ís are working to usher-in the long-promised Era of World Peace as foretold by the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, Bahá’u’lláh.

Founded in 1844, the Bahá’í Faith is a world religion with more than five million believers from virtually every national, ethnic
and religious background. The Faith accepts the divine origin and common purpose of all major world religions, and teaches that God has revealed a new message in this day to establish the oneness of humanity.

Bahá’u’lláh, the Prophet Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, taught that religious truth is not final but progressive. Religion is renewed,
He said, in every age to re-establish and apply the unchanging principles found in the scriptures of the Great Religions of the world to the needs of the present day.

Some of the main Bahá’í principles:

  • The oneness of God, humankind and religion
  • Universal Peace
  • Equality of Women and Men
  • The essential harmony of science and religion
  • The elimination of prejudices of all kinds
  • Progressive revelation
  • Independent investigation of truth
  • The common foundation of all religions
  • An auxiliary universal language
